Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains, in plain English, what information Connect Gwinnett collects through this website, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Information You Choose to Provide

You can browse this website without submitting any personal information. When you choose to fill out one of our forms — such as the Register to Visit (meeting registration) form or the Contact form, including membership-related inquiries — you may provide information such as:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your company or business information
  • How you heard about Connect Gwinnett, the topic of your inquiry, and any message you write
  • The Thursday meeting date you plan to attend (Register to Visit form)
  • The information requested on our Membership Application, described in the section below

Providing this information is voluntary. Required fields are marked on each form. We also record the date and time of your submission and which page of the website the form was submitted from.

How We Use Your Information

Connect Gwinnett may use the information you submit to:

  • Respond to your inquiries
  • Coordinate your visit to one of our Thursday meetings
  • Communicate with you regarding Connect Gwinnett
  • Process membership-related inquiries
  • Evaluate membership applications and communicate with applicants
  • Maintain records associated with those interactions

This website does not sign you up for a marketing newsletter when you submit a form.

Visit Confirmation and Reminder Emails

When you register to visit a meeting, we use your name, email address, and the Thursday you selected to send you transactional emails about that visit:

  • A confirmation email sent right after you register
  • A reminder on the Tuesday before your selected meeting
  • A reminder on the Wednesday before your selected meeting

If you register after a reminder's scheduled time has passed, that reminder is skipped. No reminders are sent after your meeting has taken place. These emails relate only to the visit you requested; they are not a newsletter, and registering does not add you to any marketing list.

Every confirmation and reminder email includes a private link you can use to change your meeting date or cancel your visit. Cancelling stops all remaining reminder emails for that registration. We keep a record of which emails were scheduled and sent, including any delivery errors, so we can make sure you are not emailed more than once.

Membership Applications

If you apply for membership in Connect Gwinnett through our online Membership Application, we collect:

  • Your contact information, such as your name, preferred name, job title, phone number, email address, and business address
  • Information about your business, such as your business name, website, products and services, ideal clients, the areas you serve, how long you have been in your profession, and your role in the business
  • Industry and category information, including the business category you are requesting and any possible overlap with other members' categories
  • Your answers to questions about how you heard about us, why you want to join, and what you hope to gain and contribute
  • Contact information for the three customer or client references you list, including their name, company, phone number, email address, and the service or product you provided to them
  • Your payment preference (we do not collect card or bank details on the application)
  • Your applicant certification and electronic signature, consisting of your acknowledgment, your typed name, the date and time you signed, and the version and text of the certification you accepted

We use this information to evaluate your membership application and to communicate with you about it. Please obtain permission from your references before listing them.

Applications are stored in the website's database. When an application is submitted, a notification email containing the application is sent to Connect Gwinnett leadership, and you receive an email confirming that your application was received. Applications are reviewed by authorized Connect Gwinnett leadership through a password-protected administrative area, and are not published on this website.

As part of the membership review process, Connect Gwinnett leadership may contact the references you list. The website does not contact references automatically.

We record the status of each application (for example, received, references checked, approved, waitlisted, or not approved) along with internal review notes such as the industry seat, reference-check date, membership start date, and reviewer. Membership decisions are made by Connect Gwinnett leadership. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance or reserve an industry category, and applicants are not added to our public Members directory automatically.

How Your Information Is Stored and Processed

Information you submit through our forms is stored in the website's database. When a form is submitted, a notification email containing the information you provided is sent to Connect Gwinnett so that we can follow up with you. If you register to visit a meeting, the confirmation and reminder emails described above are sent to the email address you provided.

Your information may be processed through the services necessary to operate this website and deliver these communications, such as website hosting, database storage, and email delivery.

Protecting Your Information

We use reasonable measures to protect the information submitted through this website. However, no method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our website or organization changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
